Datsun 240z L24 MS3 Ignition only

Post by Madkaw »

Wow, what a learning curve for me. Old school guy that has never did anything more then carbs and dizzy's. My car has always been a learning tool for me-sometimes the school of hard knocks though.
I have a modified original L24 motor(cam, headers, etc...) and I am running triple Mikuni's. I am working on a custom FI plenum so I went with ignition first. I didn't know what COP or wasted spark or dumb coils meant.
After a looonnngggg winter trapped in the garage and many days reading the MS manual I have a good running machine. The dizzy is packed in a box with no worries. Everything has been rock solid so far :yeah!:

Now it's time to tune.

Nice and clean! Congrats! When you install the FI system and get used with fuel tuning you'll ditch the carbs with great pleasure. Just try to at least inject sequentially.

Thanks! I love the look of the Mikuni's(like fine jewelry), but I am ready to get rid of fuel smells inmy garage(so's the wife). I plan on selling off the carb set-up after I dyno the engine to help finance my plenum fabrication.
