MS3 Serial format

Postby kd7jmy » Tue Dec 06, 2011 3:31 pm

Hey all, I'm in the process of making my own gauge cluster with two stepper motors and a 20x4 lcd screen. My question is does anyone have any info on the ms3 serial format string.. I figured since ms3 supports everything why not have it digitally displayed instead of using multiple sensors. Im still in the process of tuning my MS3 in my car but since after rewiring my factory gauge cluster does not work so. open to any ideas.. i do not have a stimulator for my ms3. and its fully installed in the car so .. let me know your thought processes.. i plan on posting everything i find on here as a project because im not the only one out there probably wanting this. let me know thanks.

Enable "debug comm log" in TunerStudio and examine the application log files it creates. There you can see all serial communications with the MS3.
Be sure to read the ms3.ini file as it is what tells TunerStudio how to talk to the Megasquirt.

You might also consider using the CAN bus. Then your instrument cluster isn't hogging the port that you might want to use for tuning.
