Cant find Batt correction for ms3 to fix electrical load idl

Postby TTC » Tue Aug 21, 2012 8:47 pm

Fellas, my idle goes crazy when my electric fan goes on. I want to play with my batt correction but i cannot find it with the new ms3 TS software. Is it part of dead time or dwell battery correction? As soon as my fan comes on the idle loops like crazy. Thnks

Both of those have a voltage correction. What particular "batt correction" are you looking for?

Wasn't there a voltage correction when using ms1 that would compensate for changes in afrs due to fluctuations in voltage. For instance when you load up the system with your electric fan the afr changes and it affects your idle. is that just the dead time now? Iirc it was under general settings under the req fuel.

Sounds like you're looking for the injector dead time dialog?

Go to "fuel settings", then "Injector Dead-time/PWM".

Be warned though, this one's quite a bit more complicated than previous MS versions. I don't have experience with MS1 but it sounds like it's like MS2 where there's just a single "battery voltage correction" number (in ms/v). Because the correction tends to be nonlinear, in MS3 it's not a single number any more, it's a table. You can read the documentation on it here: http://www.msextra.com/doc/ms3/fuel.html#deadtime

Yea... The pw deadtime isnt as easy as it used to be lol. I can't do it james' way so im going to try that weird miata way with the excel spreadsheet and intersection thinger. Currently my dead time is .7 which is a little higher than what RC uses as its specs.

The deadtime setting is just the same as it has always been. The correction curve is because the simplistic ms/v correction value wasn't good enough for some installs (and doesn't accurately model reality.)
