toyota camry sequential igniter 131300-2130 / 89621-33020

I am using this to drive 6 bmw coilpacks like so:

Image

right side is input, left side is output. 12v is bypassed via red wire in the photos. inputs are straight from ms3x logic level, as if firing coils with builtin igniters. i swapped this as is with ls1 coils and it fired right up.

the 94-95 camry's all had the sequential ignitor and individual coils as did the 94-95 es300. anyway the part number on my ignitor is 131300-2130

That is actually a Denso #. The Toyota # is 89621-33020 or 89621-35011. Both may/should be on the tag on the ignitor.

89621-33020 is the 6-channel igniter used in the 94-95 Camry/ES300.
89621-35011 is a 3-channel igniter used in the 96 Camry/ES300 (and others).

Another choice is the actual 1JZ/2JZ 6-channel igniter, which was also used on the 95 Avalon, it has 2 connectors instead of just 1 like the Camry igniter.

1JZ/2JZ/1MZ 6-channel igniter can be one of the following numbers:

89620-14460
89620-24080
89621-22020
89621-22030

you can find the 131300-2130 / 89621-33020 igniter in the picture on ebay for 30 bucks or so a piece, connectors are a bit harder to come by.

same thing could be done with a toyota supra igniter, but it's way more expensive, cause its for a supra.

i'm looking for the pinout, seems that thread has disappeared, but i would be able to get the pinout from what i have set up there.

one more thing. i have driven a CBR coil (aem pencil coil but WAY cheaper) with this igniter, but i'm not sure if the CBR coils need a special type of ignition setup (CDI ignition)

Image

but they need special type of spark plug (one where the tip unscrews)

the cbr coils seem to work okay with the toyota igniter.

Some bike pencil coils are CDI; some ('06+ Yamaha R6 - NOT R6S!) are TCI, and could be driven by BIPs.

Gurov -

What are the Part Numbers on those coils? I have some that look very similar, if not the same, that are Denso p/n 129700-4510 that I was planning on using with a Bosch 211 igniter (just finishing building extensions now). If they're the same - would you mind sharing the dwell settings you used and if you've had any issues with them?

Just started my MS2 to MS3/MS3X upgrade for my 4-Cyl BMW S14 this weekend...

Thanks,
Brendan

i've not had them on a running engine, but when testing, i set 3 ms dwell and things didn't get hot instantly. this was with the toyota igniter.

Here's the pinout for the 1/2jz non VVTI ignitor.

Just sharing in case anyone needs it.

Re-visiting this and posting as an FYI. I am using Denso p/n 129700-4510 (pictures look exactly the same as posted above). Cranking Dwell 4.0ms, Max Dwell 2.5ms, and everything has been running fine so far.

Did you use this igniter to drive the BMW coils?

I"m looking to use this one on my 2002 530i with fuel sequential as well, just making sure I can drive my OEM coils with this. Thanks!
