Funny log readout

Postby bobtooke » Mon Sep 24, 2007 4:04 pm

This could just be down to me doing something silly but here goes anyway...

All my Megatune logs seem to have several blocks of spurious readings showing 255 & 100% across the board.

Log attached showing one of the blocks from a typical log file.

Any ideas what's causing this?

I've been going throught the archives on this problem and this is obviously a software problem. None of the outputs make any sense at all.

WTF is causing it though?
Is it a bug or is my ECU actually giving these outputs?

I certainly don't seem to notice anything from the drivers seat which I would expect if everything went to 100% for a second or two!

Anyone got a clue 'cos I'm stumped.

bobtooke,

Your log clip gives me about 1 second of nothing. Could you post a full log or portion that shows correct and erroneous sections?

Yes, I suppose it was a bit silly to post just the erroneous block but I couldn't upload anything bigger.

Does this one hosted on my site give any more clues?

I've cut quite a bit before and after so as to save uploading loads of unnecessary garbage.

Thanks,

Bob T

Hey Bob - good file. Those are the same symptoms when I've had either a poor contact connection or once a bad serial cable that dropped-out with road vibrations. There are other rare issues that can cause this type of data 'hole' that you can review here if the wiggle tests don't reveal anything.
