Warning to UK E-bay buyers

Postby daxtojeiro » Sun Feb 18, 2007 11:20 am

Hi all,
I've decided it was time to post a thread about a certain UK based E-Bay seller of MS's who is NOT in our recommended list and who should be avoided at all costs. (M-Tech) Ive had between 10 and 15 of their ECU's sent to me for repair in the past 3-4 months, see the pictures for the quality that the boards are being built to!! This particular ECU had been sold as a "plug-n-play" setup, of which it clearly wasnt! In fact most of the settings were incorresctly set for the EDIS setup for which it had been wired.
OK, we all get it wrong from time to time, non of us are perfect, but this is just a joke and is giving MS a bad name in the UK.
So please, if you want to buy a pre-built MS then buy from the recommended list, thats what its there for, http://www.msextra.com/viewtopic.php?t=22372
Phil

Yup

I have had a guy desperate that his MS wouldn't work, even though not bought via myself his story re lack (any) support
was just heart rending, so I asked him to send it to me.

Not a hope in hell in would ever have run anything, was supposed to be EDIS but wasn't even close

AVOID

How much would someone even save buying from these types of sellers? I mean the genuine article is very cheap as it is, and even the slightest saving would have to be one of the ultimate examples of false economy, especially when one factors in the poor track record these sub-standard boards have, and the fact the support comes from a lowly intellectual thief.

Well, as a perspective purchaser I'm having nothing but trouble. I have mailed the OP as per his website instructions via the email which is also listed as his email on these forums: no reply. Considering he is a business, not having proper contact facilities ie a phone number seems odd. I have also tried to contact one of the other admin guys who lists building and selling MS on his profile (I know he has used the same engine I want to use it on) but all I get is a basic derelict website with nothing but broken links.

I really want to buy and use MS, but plastering big "do not buy from" easily contactable retailers who "we" don't know are supplying inferior products (only got the OPs word for that) whilst at the same time not offering a viable directly contactable alternative is not good enough either.

Overall, what may be a fantastic product is mired by public bickering between competitors and very low customer contact/service, giving the feeling that purchase will be a mistake. I want someone to prove me wrong and take my hard earned cash off me... anyone?
