I will drive my coils from MS3X and I have two questions about the bips.

Do get it wright I should put a 100Ohm resistor betwin MS3X and BIPs base and I should connect the collector to the coil and the emitter to the ground. Correct?

Is this heat sink big enought?

That wiring should work.

Heat sink size depends on the location and how hard you drive the coils. It should be OK unless it's sunk into potting epoxy.

I installed today my MS3 on my car again. The circuit with the BIPs worked fine but sometimes the timing light was flashing twice(one quick double flash). Is this normal?

But my problem isn't that. I was ready to check the timming and start the engine for fisrt time, but I stopped getting rpms! I checked everythink but while cranking I couldn't see any more rpms and also nothing on the tooth logger. I ckecked also my crank sensor. Is it any cofiguration that I possibly changed by mistake? What should i check?

Also the "ready" light on TS is "not ready". Any ideas, why I don't see the cranking?

Do you get anything in the composite logger? If not, then you most likely have an electrical problem.

Nothing at all. I attached the csv file. I can't understand why this is happening, i never had this problem before. Should I install the OEM DME to check that the engine is working? Why the "ready light" on TS is off? Is it normal?

It is normal if you do not have a tach signal.

MANY thanks James, this info helped me a lot!!
The carnk sensor pin was broken in the adapter i made.

The double flashes in my timing light are normal? Some times the light flashes a single pulse and some others it makes a quick double flash.

I tried to start my engine but nothing happened, because the injectors aren't injecting.I saw pulsewidths in TS(34ms on sequential and 17ms on semi-sequential).So I tried the test mode. The fuel pump worked and the coils also, but the injectors were dead. They are connected on 12V and MS3X(inj1-19,inj2-10,inj3-16,inj4-13)....

My MS3X injection outputs have 0V difference with the ground and 9V difference with the + of my car-battery. Is this normal?

WITH the injector connected I see 12V difference with the ground and 0V difference with the + of my car-battery. This sounds normal to me, isn't it?

I think I found where the problem was.

Do we have any configurations-maps for M42B18 engine to start with?

all you need for a "config" on a BMW engine is the right tooth #1 angle and a base ignition timing and fuel.

I put the #1 tooth angle 125* but I will take a better look with my timing light. It should be something between 114 and 130.

I have the registered edition of TS and I used my key once on my laptop. Now I'm formatting the laptop and I also need to install the registered edition on my carpc. Will my registration key cover me?

tooth #1 angle is always going to be a multiple of 6 when you have a 60-2 wheel, as a guide (each tooth is 6 degrees wide).

Yes, the agreement is for 1 user on up to 3 computers. So you should have a problem.

Why's that? Tooth#1 angle is whatever is required to get correct timing. It depends on sensor and wheel phasing.
On my 36-1 wheel, the correct tooth#1 angle happens to be 39 degrees.
