Renault setups with plug and play MS2 inside

Postby BenGTT » Sun May 30, 2010 9:25 am

Hello,

Since 2 years, I have done some sucessfull installation with MS2 v3.0 and 3.57, distributed or wasted spark all the time with ms2extra firmware.
This time I will go to the next step and I am proud to show my plug and play MS2 for Renault wich include Clio 16s/16v, Renault 19 16s, Renault 21 Turbo, Renault 5 GT-Turbo MPI converted and is ready for Alpine's V6 engine if the firmware will include the 66-2-2-2 wheel decoder.
After, I'll continue to work on newer Renault engines like F4R (2.0l 16v) to have them megasquirted.
I am talking about MS as much as I can here in France because many people and tuners think that because the price is lower than Motec, dta, Sybele, it isn't quality, well we are in France...and french people can be...how can I say...

Here is some pictures of my pnp ecus, hope you will love the job.
This ecu has boost control, EGTs, table switch, launch control, etc, but on the final revision of the PCB there will be a wideband controller and also a knock sensor audio circuit for easy tuning on dyno. The ecu is wasted spark compatible as is if the customer change his 44-2-2 flywheel for a 60-2, there is just some minor wire change on the back of the PCB.
The ecu is using a 35pins (same as Bosch Motronic 35pins) Siemens/Fenix/Bendix connector.

EDIT (24/09/2010) : As recommended, I would like to say that all this work is built on genuine Bowling and Grippo Megasquirt MS2 :)

Thanks

Benjamin

Hi Benjamin, I am delighted to hear that you are also busy to get the Alpine V6 engine running with Megasquirt. I have avoided the issue with to 66-2-2-2 wheel by installing a self-made 36-1 wheel and are running my engine on petrol and LPG by now. The problem that I still have however is that I don't know what the right ignition advance table should look like, can you maybe provide such a table for me or maybe even an example MSQ that has the right setups ???

Your input will be much appreciated.

Kind regards,

Albert van der Veen

Hi Albert,

Since the stock flywheel is not (yet) supported, I didn't made much tests on those engine. I have a V6 GT-Turbo ready for tests on my dyno but I actually don't have any maps redy for this car right now, I am sorry. As soon as I have a base map, I will send you a PM.

Benjamin thanks for your answer, I'm currently setting up a [MOD EDIT: RIP OFF MEGASQUIRT SYSTEM THAT IS NOT SUPPORTED HERE] with a bi-fuel system, Petrol and LPG, and I hope that in the near future we can swap some helpful information ...

Kind regards,

Albert.

Salut floods,

Hi,

here are some updates. I am working on another plug and play ecu for newer Renault, called Renault Clio 2.0L 16s Sport or Cup. They also might be installed on some new Mini's under conditions. This ecu is not based on the V3 bcp from B&G but on a genuine Microsquirt since the ecu case is much smaller then the Fenix one.

and here is the actual pcb for the replacement of the Fenix ecu including the on-board wideband controller SLC_OEM from Alan To (14point7)

Hope you like them :)

Hi

I'm testing the pnp board on my clio. I was using MS2 with adaptive harness, I'm very happy because it is look like stock ecu...
After 3 month, no problem !! It is very nice for the technical control on the race :D
I'm only use it on race and for track days.

Hi BenGTT!

I have 2 GTTs and a Renault Megane 2.0 16V (F7R).
One of my GTTs has just been modified to MPI with MS2.
And I'm also planning to change my Megane ECU to MS. Do you know if the F7R engine has
a similar fonix ECU? It is Siemens S113717102. But I haven't yet checked if it is also has a 35pin connector.
Do you think that your replacement card could be used for my ECU?
I also have some questions about the GTT. I'll drop you a PM.

Regards,

Jimmy

+1 Nice job BenGTT, I can see from the first picture you are using the MicroSquirt Module, and plugging it in to your adapter board. 8)

Hello Hello

Nice job mate, this plug and play looks pretty clean :)

iam doing MS2 extra in one clio sport 172, with ITB´s but iam a bit lost on the flywheel set up, the gear box is assembled so i cant see the correct position and number of teeth.. Using a screw driver i counted 58-1 not sure :?

Can you please tell me the right set up?
i guess this fly wheel can do on the MS or am i wrong?

Best regards eddy

Hi Ben

I'm attempting to Run an MS1 V2.2 on a Renault Clio 172, i have all the information i need for the moment all but 'coil igniters' do you know if the Stock Sagem Block Coil Pack (wasted spark) contains the igniters or if i will need to add these to the MS1?...............been pulling my hair out trying to find out, would appreciate any help.

Nice work there, very clean job...

my daily driver is a phase 1 Renault Twingo 16V (D4F engine), custom turboed, using a MS2. No plug and play ECU in here, but just to let you know it reads the stock 60-2 perfectly, and drives all the sensors and coils without problem.
