Seriously need some help

Postby mad4x4 » Mon May 28, 2012 12:06 am

Ok, installed mega squirt about 18months ago and car runs, but I just can't get the car to a point where it will meet UK MOT requirements . HC in the 1500 range and CO high as well

Car runs wil an over fuel black sooty exhaust and belteches balck smoke on throttle blips.:cry::cry::cry:

Car is a 1.8 Zetec
Stock Injectors
LC-1 Wideband Lamdba
Ford Air Temp Sensor
Ford Modeo Crank Sensor
MS3 on board MAP
& GSRX750 TPS sensor onto GSXR Bike carbs. ( These have the slides locked up and are being used as throttle bodies)

Is there a Pay service or can any one help by either building me maps suitable or help my maps to a point the "auto tune" of Tuner studio will fix it. Can send out files I have currently if that helps.

Orginal MOT was in March it is now end of MAY - I'm going to miss the bloddy summer again   Getting to the point I hat the "f'ing" car....

Car - MK Indy with 1.8 zetec Engine

Please post your MSQ and a datalog of startup and idling. Make sure the wideband is reading correctly in TunerStudio.

Excess HC typically means a misfire or MASSIVELY rich.
Excess CO means running too rich.

What do your spark plugs look like?

Black smoke on acceleration suggests your acceleration wizard numbers are too large.

Ok thanks - I'll get the logs and MSQ off of the lap top and post.

I've got a 2.0 zetec & mine was running seriously rich when I first started it.

I found a page on megatune where you set the size of the engine & no of cylinders. Mine was set to 350 CID (which I took to be cubic inches) or 5.7 litres  . I changed it to 2000cc & it ran better instantly.

Of course being a newbie to this I could have completely mis-interpreted it
