MS3 pre-1.1 beta 24 released

Postby muythaibxr » Sun Jun 03, 2012 6:35 pm

Changes since beta 23:

- Fix ini to un-grey MS3X inj trim when non-sequential.
- Add the ability to tie Idle VE or Idle Advance activation to PID idle activation
- Make FC rotary trailing back the way it was. Tester had his CAS stabbed wrong.

The firmware can be found here:

James,

Loaded the test firmware and can happly say that the turn-on issue for AC is gone !! :yeah!: I can't say for the fan side of things but tried it several times to make sure it would come on between settings, that the delay was still working and the cutoff still worked also. All is well.

BIG Thanks !!!

i am having error codes with loading in tunerstudios

Says \root problem invalid row in ini file. Not sure how to handle this row
maincontroller.ini line 230 burncommand
maincontroller .ini line 231 pagereadcommand
maincontroller.ini line 232 pagevaluewrite

I have tried it to 2 computers with no luck. They are running window 7 so that might be the problem. Any help would be great.

3-wire PWM idle problem

Postby shauer » Sat Jun 09, 2012 2:58 pm

Just updated from beta 20 to beta 24. I noticed that my closed loop idle was not working as expected. I'm running a 3-wire pwm idle control valve at 99Hz. Normal operating range is approximately 25% - 50%.

The "hum" coming from the idle valve does not sound correct, it is much higher in pitch than it should be. It sounds like it is running at well over 1KHz. The valve does not open and close as expected, it takes up to 75% to get it to start opening and then it overshoots.

I tried changing PWM frequency all the way down to 12Hz with no noticeable change in my idle valve operation. The valve was just working correctly yesterday when I parked the car and has never malfunctioned in the past 3 years.

Is it possible that low frequency 3-wire PWM idle was effected by any recent changes?

MSQ is attached.

I do not know of any changes that should have affected the idle outputs.

For what it's worth, Braineack and I seem to have mystery AC failures recently. Mind sharing the test code or letting us know when the magical fix of beta25 will show up? :)

The issue that is fixed here only has to do with the TPS shutoff work. What problem are you experiencing exactly?

When I went from alpha 11 to beta 22 the day i took my car out of winter slumber. my a/c seemed to only blow hot air, didn't ever think it was a firmware issue, it was fine in Oct when I parked it, but I figured maybe after sitting all winter it just slowly decharged. In fact I was about to go get my a/c recharged today, but have since decided to wait. I have my TPS off at > 75% and hysteresis 10%. The compressor appears to load up, but the clutch isn't engaging...which is odd cause I'd think my pressure switch would prevent that.

Y8s has had his car parked forever and parked it just after loading beta 22 as well, the other day he had to move it and suddenly his a/c isn't running. Very similar symptoms, a/c fan turns on, his pressure switch isn't to blame, compressor appears to put load on the engine, but the clutch isn't engaging to compress the r-123. He can get it to run if he jumps some wires to the compressor directly IIRC.

How long did you wait after starting? The code I added to delay AC engagement after it shuts off also delays AC engagement after start.

The 25 beta code allows you to assign the primary fuel load as Speed-Density. If you then activate the MAF and choose MAFMAP as the secondary fuel load the code freezes on boot up. The error message is

Is there any possibility of getting the next beta code to allow this as an option? I think I can pull off everything I need to, with this option.

I reread his issue (I was playing video games and trying to read) and see it was just about the TPS% and intial engagement. My clutch is activating, so it seems I really am just low on freon. Disregard. Y8s seems to have a different issue.

FWIW, beta24 is running well on my miata. I like the CL activating for timing advance.
